Terms of Service

The short version. CloudSweep Pro is an annual subscription that unlocks Backup, Compression and detailed Wizard results on up to three of your computers. It renews each year until you cancel, and you can cancel any time from the billing portal. If it is not for you, tell us within 14 days and we will refund you in full. CloudSweep deletes videos from your Amazon Photos account when you ask it to — that is the point of the app — so please read section 7 before you start deleting things.
1. Who we are
CloudSweep is provided by Burmarsh Systems Ltd, a company registered in Northern Ireland (company number NI743398), registered office 7 Mount Ober Gardens, Belfast, County Antrim, BT8 6BL, Northern Ireland, contactable at hello@cloudsweep.app. In these terms “we”, “us” and “our” mean that company, and “you” means you, the person using CloudSweep.
2. These terms
By downloading, installing or using CloudSweep you agree to these terms. If you do not agree to them, do not use the software. Please also read our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your data.
If you are buying as a consumer rather than for a business, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
3. Free and Pro
CloudSweep is a desktop application for managing the videos in your Amazon Photos account. It is free to download and use, with some features reserved for a paid subscription.

Which features sit on which side of that line may change as the product develops, but we will not move a feature out of Free and into Pro for the remainder of a subscription period you have already paid for.
4. Your licence
While your subscription is active we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use CloudSweep on up to three computers that you own or control. You will receive a licence key; keep it safe, and do not publish or share it. You can move a licence between computers by deactivating one and activating another.
We own the software and everything in it. Nothing in these terms transfers any intellectual property to you. You must not sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute CloudSweep or your licence key, remove any notice from it, or attempt to circumvent its licensing. You must not decompile or reverse-engineer the software, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits it despite this restriction.
The application checks the validity of your licence with our servers from time to time. It will keep working offline for a grace period of seven days between successful checks.
5. Subscription and billing
- CloudSweep Pro is sold as an annual subscription. The price, currency and any applicable tax are shown at checkout before you pay, and that is the price that applies to your purchase.
- Payment is taken by Stripe. By subscribing you also accept Stripe's terms as our payment processor. We never receive or store your card details.
- Your subscription renews automatically each year using the payment method on file, until you cancel it.
- We may change the price of a subscription. Any change takes effect at your next renewal, and we will email you at least 30 days before it does, so that you can cancel first if you would rather not pay the new price.
- If a renewal payment fails, we will retry it and your licence will keep working for a short period while we do. If payment ultimately fails, the Pro features stop and CloudSweep returns to the free feature set.
6. Cancellation and refunds
14-day money-back guarantee. If you are not happy with CloudSweep Pro, email hello@cloudsweep.app within 14 days of your first payment and we will refund it in full. You do not need to give a reason. This applies to your first payment; renewals are covered by the notice in the next paragraph instead.
You can cancel at any time through the billing portal, which you can open from within CloudSweep. Cancelling stops the next renewal — your Pro features keep working until the end of the period you have already paid for, and are not cut off immediately. We will email you a reminder before each renewal.
Outside the 14-day guarantee we do not generally refund part-used subscription periods, but if something has gone wrong please contact us — we would rather sort it out than have you go to your bank.
As a consumer you also have a statutory right to cancel a distance contract within 14 days. Because CloudSweep Pro unlocks digital features immediately, by subscribing you ask us to begin supplying it straight away. The guarantee above is offered in addition to, and does not limit, your statutory rights.
7. Deleting videos — please read this one
CloudSweep is a tool for deleting things. When you select videos and choose to remove them, CloudSweep moves them to the bin in your Amazon Photos account. Amazon then permanently deletes the contents of that bin according to its own policy and timescale, after which those videos are gone and cannot be recovered by us or, in all likelihood, by Amazon.
You are responsible for choosing what to delete, for checking your selection before you confirm it, and for keeping your own backups of anything you care about. We strongly recommend using the Backup feature, or your own copy, before any large deletion. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for videos you asked the software to delete.
Space-saving figures shown by the CloudSweep Wizard are estimates based on the information Amazon reports about your library. They are provided to help you decide, not as a guarantee of the space you will recover.
8. Amazon
CloudSweep is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Amazon. Amazon, Amazon Photos and related marks are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates.
To use CloudSweep you need your own Amazon account with Amazon Photos. Your use of that account remains governed by your agreement with Amazon, and you are responsible for complying with it. CloudSweep works by using the same interfaces your browser uses, with your own signed-in session.
Amazon can change or withdraw those interfaces at any time, without notice to us. If it does, some or all of CloudSweep may stop working until we are able to adapt it, and we cannot promise that we will always be able to. We are not responsible for Amazon's service, its availability, its pricing, or anything Amazon does to your account or your files.
9. Acceptable use
You must not use CloudSweep to access an Amazon account you are not authorised to use, to infringe anyone's rights, to break any law, or in a way that disrupts or places an unreasonable load on Amazon's services or ours. You must not share your licence key beyond the three computers permitted, or attempt to interfere with our licensing service.
10. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the licensing service available and CloudSweep working, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may update the software, change features, or discontinue CloudSweep entirely. If we discontinue it, we will not take new subscriptions, and we will refund a fair proportion of any period you have paid for but cannot use.
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects your rights we will email licence holders before it takes effect; continuing to use CloudSweep after that means you accept the new terms.
11. Third-party software
CloudSweep bundles FFmpeg, licensed under the GNU General Public License v3. FFmpeg is included as a separate command-line program and is not linked into CloudSweep. The full licence text, and details of how to obtain the corresponding source code, ship with the application; you can also request the source from hello@cloudsweep.app.
12. Warranties
We provide CloudSweep with reasonable care and skill, and it should be as described on this website. Beyond that, and beyond what the law requires, the software is provided “as is”: we do not warrant that it will be error-free, that it will meet your particular requirements, or that it will remain compatible with Amazon Photos.
13. Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited — including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Subject to that:
- We are not liable for loss of data, loss of media, loss of profit, loss of business, or any indirect or consequential loss.
- We are not liable for anything caused by Amazon's service, by changes Amazon makes, or by videos you instructed CloudSweep to delete.
- Our total liability arising out of or in connection with these terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
If you use CloudSweep for business purposes, we accept no liability for business losses of any kind.
14. Ending this agreement
You can stop using CloudSweep at any time by uninstalling it, and end your subscription as described in section 6. We may suspend or terminate your licence if you materially breach these terms — for example by sharing your licence key or attempting to defeat licensing — and where the breach is capable of being put right we will ask you to put it right first. If we terminate your licence unfairly, we will refund the unused part of your subscription.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, liability and governing law — will do so.
15. General
These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between us about CloudSweep. If any part of them is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. A delay in enforcing a term is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our consent; we may transfer ours if our business is sold, provided your rights are not adversely affected. Nobody other than you and us has any right to enforce these terms.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Northern Ireland, and disputes will be dealt with by the courts of Northern Ireland. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK, you may also bring proceedings in your own jurisdiction and you keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer protections there.
